A complete teeth and cosmetic examination is the foundation of our Comprehensive Oral Health Assessment (OHA) here at Park Place Dental in Cardiff. Our practice is strongly committed to the philosophy of preventative dentistry. Our proactive approach will identify your risk of future dental problems e.g. gum disease, decay or tooth wear and help prevent them before the need for dental treatment.
Each patient undergoes a thorough annual OHA which consists of a comprehensive medical and social assessment and a detailed oral examination. This will include an oral cancer exam and also evaluate whether you have adequate salivary function, which can be altered by medications you are taking, certain diseases and medical treatments. With all this information taken in to account it allows us to measure and score your current level of oral health, and identify those areas where you require treatment and establish all your monitoring and education needs to preserve you teeth throughout your life.
Based on your individual risk profile and your personalised Traffic Light Red/Amber/Green risk profile we will design your personal care plan enabling you to understand your role in achieving a high level of oral health. This will ultimately reduce the risk for future invasive dental treatment. Your progress will be reviewed at your six month appointment with our team.
