Target Audience: General Dental Practitioners (Particularly DF1/DF2)

Length: Full Day

Aim

To understand the essential systems used in practice to prepare a case for patient presentation, case acceptance, communication with your technician and the diagnostic process of advanced treatment planning.

Learning outcomes:

At the end of the course the participants should be able to:

• Have a logical understanding of the diagnostic process of complicated restorative cases and the techniques essential for their success. These include dental photography, kois dento-facial facebows, articulators, wax ups and trial tooth preparations.
• The role of the treatment coordinator in the diagnostic process and case presentation.
• The role of a cosmetically adjustable articulator and the joint planning with your technician.
• Understand when to use the most appropriate techniques in each clinical situation.
• Confidently use the techniques in general practice.

Target Audience: General Dental Practitioners (Especially FT1/FT2)

Length:  Full Day Hands on

Aim

To reinforce and expand skills in the preparation of tooth structure for routine indirect restorative procedures faced in general practice, such as crowns, bridges and onlays.

Learning outcomes:

At the end of the course the participants should be able to:

• Understand the principals of tooth preparation and how this will impact on clinical success.
• Understand the differences in tooth preparation for different clinical procedures.
• More confidently prepare teeth for a range of routine restorative techniques.

Synopsis

Practical, hands on day outlining the principals of successful tooth preparation. Full coverage crowns, veneers and adhesive bridges can be covered. The day is mainly hands on and will give the opportunity to undertake tooth preparation on phantom heads and benefit from direct feedback on successful technique.

Target Audience: General Dental Practitioners / Therapists

Length: General Dental Practitioners – One Day / Hygienist/Therapists – Half Day

Aim

To enable GDP’s to be confident in successfully diagnosing the causes of TSL and to manage its treatment with confidence.

Learning outcomes:

At the end of the course the participants should be able to:

• Successfully recognise the appearance of TSL.
• Be able to differentiate between the different causes of TSL.
• Understand the aetiology of the condition and its prevention.
• Have confidence in knowing when to, and how to, monitor, treat or refer the patient.
• Understand how to develop a care pathway for the management of TSL in practice.
• Have confidence in treating simple cases of TSL.
• Have an understanding of the treatment of advanced TSL.

Target Audience: All team members

Length: Half Day or One Day

Aim

To enable GDP’s to understand the history, rational and benefits to a practice and patients of using an OHA in practice.

Learning outcomes:

At the end of the course the participants should be able to:

• Understand the history of OHA’s in practice
• Understand the reasons for using an OHA in general practice.
• Appreciate the benefits to patient care of using an OHA, especially improved communication with clinicians.
• Appreciate the benefits to a practice of using an OHA, particularly use in audit, monitoring the impact of health promotion initiatives, guaranteed compliance with current standards of note taking.
• Design and implement an OHA tool in their own practices.

Target Audience: General Dental Practitioners. FT1/FT2/ Therapists

Length: One Day Hands On

Aim

To inform GDP’s about the different roles fibre reinforced technology can be used in dental practice and the benefits of their use to daily practice. Theory and hands on with practical session to introduce GDP to using new fibre reinforced technology e.g. fibre posts/ splints.

Learning outcomes:

At the end of the course the participants should be able to:

• Be aware of the latest developments in fibre reinforced technology.
• Understand the clinical uses and benefits of these materials.
• Have an understanding of the practical techniques for their use.

Synopsis

A practical, hands on day outlining the latest fibre reinforced materials for use in general practice. Focuses on the latest tips and tricks for their use and hands on sessions to experience there use practically.

Aim

To enable GDP’s to understand the importance of excellent customer care throughout all areas of a practice and implementing important systems to achieve this.

Learning outcomes:

At the end of the course the participants should be able to:

• Understand the importance of an excellent customer journey throughout the practice.
• Understand the role of a treatment coordinator in the customer journey.
• Understand the basis of a referral system to put in place to ensure a regular stream of new patients.
• Learn how to implement systems to monitor new patients’ referrals.
• Implement effective marketing tools such as a website, welcome pack, newsletter, and patient education leaflets.
• Implement a patient satisfaction survey.
